Coatings Engineer/Scientist
We are looking for a Coatings Engineer/Scientist to join our talented and diverse technical team. This role will support initiatives in product development of the next generation of coating platforms and contribute to the development of more efficient testing and application methods for customer implementation.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering. Previous industry experience or work with application of coatings and manufacturing processes is a plus. Experience designing or testing printed circuit boards is a plus. The candidate must:
- Have the ability to work independently in a lab-based environment with minimal day-to-day guidance. They must be comfortable working in a lab environment with standard laboratory equipment.
- Work closely with our global sales and field-deployed technical teams to ensure the on-time completion of customer activities, including participating in technical calls with customers and managing customer samples.
- Execute on multiple coating application and product development initiatives in parallel.
- Contribute to the development and validation of new coating products and application techniques to meet market and customer requirements.
- Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and be able to engage customers on the details of our products.
- Participate in occasional business travel.
- Be legally allowed to work in the US.
Senior Coatings Engineer/Scientist
We are looking for a Senior Coatings Engineer/Scientist to join our talented and diverse technical team. This role will own projects in both product development of the next generation of coating platforms and the development of more efficient testing and application methods for customer implementation.
- Work autonomously on open-ended projects ranging from new coating development to creation of novel application techniques.
- Work closely with our global sales and field-deployed technical team and take ownership of initiatives to ensure the on-time completion of customer activities, including leading technical calls with customers and managing customer samples.
- Contribute to overall project strategy and execute on multiple application and product development initiatives in parallel.
- Develop customer-focused solutions and effectively plan for and execute commercialization of coatings and application techniques in a manufacturing environment.
- Communicate technical advances and project strategy internally across a global team comprised of technical team members and sales. The candidate must also be able to engage customers on the details of our products and establish customer relationships based on delivering solutions.
- Expand actnano’s intellectual property portfolio by innovating on current or new coating and application technology.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor colleagues on technical issues and advances.
- Participate in occasional business travel.
- Be legally allowed to work in the US.
Field Application Engineer – Mexico
We are looking for a Field Application Engineer based in Mexico to join our talented and diverse team. This position will own the application, qualification/validation and troubleshooting of actnano’s innovative waterproofing solutions for customers in Mexico. They will establish and maintain positive relationships with key technical contacts and decision makers at our customers. This position will also require developing an expertise in our coating technologies and honing processes for optimal application of our coatings to a variety of printed circuit boards.
Previous work with application of coatings, electronics manufacturing processes, and factory line experience required. Technical project management experience is preferred. The candidate must:
- Work independently with minimal day-to-day guidance.
- Have a history of working directly with key technical contacts, decision makers, and distribution partners to win opportunities.
- Have expertise with equipment and methodologies used for dispensing coating materials (e.g., spray, needle, jetting, film).
- Understand and implement coating application approaches on a variety of customer samples in customers’ production lines.
- Work closely with our global sales and technical team to ensure the on-time completion of customer activities, including technical sales support and failure analyses.
- Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and be able to engage customers on the details of our products.
- Provide onsite support for factory implementation of our products, regular quality control, and frequent touch-points with our customers.
- Participate in frequent required travel to customers throughout Mexico and to actnano’s US locations.
- Communicate effectively in Spanish and English.
Field Application Engineer
We are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our talented and diverse team. This position will own the application, qualification/validation and troubleshooting of actnano’s innovative waterproofing solutions for their assigned area (China, Korea, Japan, or Germany). They will establish and maintain positive relationships with key technical contacts and decision makers at our customers. This position will also require developing an expertise in our coating technologies and honing processes for optimal application of our coatings to a variety of printed circuit boards.
- Have the ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day guidance.
- Understand and implement coating application approaches on a variety of customer samples.
- Work closely with our global sales team to ensure the on-time completion of customer activities, including technical sales support, failure analyses, and customer samples.
- Be capable of moving customer and internal projects from initial inception to completion.
- Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and be able to engage customers on the details of our products.
- Understand and have experience with equipment and methodologies used for dispensing coating materials ( e.g. , spray, needle, jetting, film).
- Work directly with key technical contacts and decision makers to win opportunities.
- Participate in required travel to customers.
- Be legally allowed work in China, Korea, Japan, or Germany.
